Pixel Art Metroidvania Chasm Finally Launches This Month

July 10, 2018

After over five years in development, Bit Kid Inc has finally announced the release date of Chasm. The game will launch on July 31st for the PlayStation 4, Vita, and PC platforms. It will support cross-buy, granting PlayStation 4 owners a copy of the Vita version as well.

Chasm features the standards of the metroidvania genre with melee combat, action platforming, RPG loot and ability progression, However the handcrafted environments of the six areas will be randomly connected, altering the screen to screen journey each play session. Staying close to it's retro inspirations, the game features fluid pixel art animation and natively renders at 384x216.

Funded on Kickstarter in 2013, the campaign pulled in $191,897, surpassing it's $150,000 goal with a total of 6,938 backers.
