Ahead of it's September launch, online retailers are now selling Nintendo Switch Online subscription plans. As pointed out by Wario64, Amazon currently lists the 12 month ($19.99) and 3 month ($7.99) digital codes for pre-order. Though officially announced by Nintendo, the 1 month ($3.99) and the 12 Month eight person Nintendo Account Family Group ($34.99) is not yet listed.
Currently, Nintendo Switch owners are able to play any online game for free. But beginning in September, this feature will become exclusive to paid users. Other features include cloud save data, special discounts and deals, as well as 20 classic NES games with newly implemented online play.
Nintendo Switch Online plans will also be available for purchase directly from Nintendo and the Switch's eShop.
This marks the first time in company history that a console's online play will restricted to paid users. Both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network have priced their annual fee as $59.99. Though these subscriptions services also include multiple current generation download games every month.
