Several months after it dropped on consoles, Capcom's best selling game ever is finally coming to PC on August 9. Much like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, the game will launch with the base game before rolling out a series of new equipment upgrades, monster enemies, and locations. Though this version will take advantage of PC hardware, allowing for 4K resoution and 60 fps, though the game's recommended graphics cards include the robust Nvidia GTX 1060 and AMD Radeon RX 570X.
Monster Hunter World is latest entry of the long running franchise. Originally debuting on the PlayStation 2 in 2004, the series initially revived modest reviews and sales. However it's popularity exploded in Japan when it made the leap to handheld devices. Becoming an platform exclusive kingmaker on Sony's PSP and later Nintendo's 3DS. Though Monster Hunter's success was largely limited to the Japanese public, achieving a passionate though smaller audience in the west.
According to director Yuya Tokuda and producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, Monster Hunter World was developed with the western market in mind. Introducing more open environments and elaborate tutorials to incite new players.
Monster Hunter World has shipped over 8 million copies since it's debut in January this year.
